At Broccoli, we think it’s only logical to invest in a world that is good for our health, our soil and our ecosystems. That is why we are mobilising growth capital for entrepreneurs who have the courage to do things differently. For pioneers who are building fairer food chains, making production processes more sustainable, fighting food waste and developing vegetable protein alternatives, for example.
Making the world a greener and healthier place is what we are all about at Broccoli. We bring entrepreneurs and investors together. Through our platform, companies can use their equity capital for healthy growth.
First of all, it is good to know that while we give guidelines to companies regarding the valuations published on Broccoli, it is the company’s responsibility to set the price of the investment offer. Ultimately, the public decides whether they are willing to invest at the price.
There are no rules around valuing a company. Valuing a company is subjective, which means there are many ways to value a company.
For companies raising investments on Broccoli, we recommend looking at similar companies in their market to see how they are valued. Besides the sector, we also recommend they consider the stage, risk and growth of their business. We also advise companies to substantiate the business valuation with the help of an independent advisor.
Potential investors can ask questions regarding the company's value by contacting the founders directly using the contact details on the campaign page of the company
Fan of a sustainable business? By buying shares in that company you are helping it to fulfil its mission: the company can continue to develop and make a difference with equity instead of debt. If the company grows and increases in value, you will enjoy a good return. Because as a co-owner you share in the future profits and the increase in value. But never invest purely for the sake of the return. See what suits you. What you get excited about and what you believe in. And compile your unique portfolio of companies that make the world healthier and greener.

We help entrepreneurs who are taking risks to make the world a better place. We have a strict door policy and only work with companies we really understand and believe in. We work with several experienced entrepreneurs to analyse the company and its proposition. The directors of the company are also checked, for example for a criminal record. If we believe in the proposition, then various professionals get to work on the right legal structure and financial research. At the same time, propositions on Broccoli are not investment advice. We are not responsible for decisions made by investors based on the statements made in the documentation or presentation.
Investing money in a company is risky by definition. Because there is always a risk that you might lose your money or that the investment loses value. Nobody knows which start-up or scale-up is the next moneymaker. You should therefore only invest money that you can afford to lose. Each company on Broccoli sets out the risks in extensive documentation: make a sound choice based on your own research.
